Robert G. Miller opened his business in 1954, working from a home office, to provide aluminum products and installation to the Hanover area. He named the business Miller Aluminum.
“Bob” did his job well. This business was growing and more space was soon needed. In 1971 the thriving enterprise moved to larger quarters and the business expanded to include warehousing and sales to homeowners and building contractors.
Two years later another move was necessary to accommodate the fast-growing business and the company moved to 509 West Elm Avenue where it is located today. This was the former site of Brady & Mc Cadden Lumber Company. All existing buildings underwent renovations at this time.
Many changes occurred in 1976, when Miller Aluminum became Robert G. Miller, Inc.
Son-in-law Stewart (Butch) Bailey and son Scott Miller became officers of the corporation. A new showroom was added to display the many facets of aluminum siding and accessories.
The next five years were a time of tremendous growth for Robert G. Miller, Inc. New offices and more warehousing were added as the news spread of the company’s experience and devotion to the sale of quality lines including, windows, doors, aluminum and vinyl siding, seamless guttering, shutters, garage doors and so much more…
In 1988 the company added a 2000 sq. ft. showroom and sales areas. In addition, a beautiful 1400 sq. ft. Door and Window Planning Center was opened.
In 2008, the showroom was again remodeled to better display the full line of options in windows, doors, siding, decking, and railing in a more open setting.

In 2015, Robert G. Miller became a part of Your Building Centers, an 100% employee-owned supplier of lumber and building products with 13 locations across central and western Pennsylvania. This merger allowed us to provide an increase in services and products, while maintaining the high-quality service the Hanover area has come to expect.
